In yet another example of the Biden administration trying to bury bad news on a Friday, the Director of National Intelligence released its report on the origin of the COVID-19 pandemic. This report confirms what we already knew, that the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) was collaborating with the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) People’s Liberation Army and working extensively with bats and coronaviruses. But, what is even more concerning is that the report reveals that the WIV was conducting genetic engineering on coronaviruses and that their “biosafety” precautions were lacking.

It is not surprising that the CCP would attempt to cover up their involvement in the pandemic, or that the Biden administration is trying to downplay the significance of this report. However, what is alarming is that American intel agencies are still not in agreement over the origin of the virus. While some agencies believe in the natural exposure theory, others, including the Department of Energy and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, assess that a laboratory-associated incident was the most likely cause of the first human infection with SARS-CoV-2.
This report shows the danger of relying on foreign entities for critical research and our need for greater transparency in scientific research to ensure the health and safety of our citizens. Unfortunately, the Biden administration seems unwilling to hold the CCP accountable for their involvement in the pandemic, instead opting to bury this report on a Friday. Conservatives must demand that the Biden administration take action and hold the CCP accountable for their actions that led to a global disaster.
