Monaco’s remarks underscore the gravity of the situation, highlighting the rise of radicalization through online channels and the potential for racially or ethnically motivated ideologies to incite violence. She pointed to the current conflict overseas as a contributing factor to the heightened threat environment, with foreign terrorist organizations leveraging the turmoil to provoke their followers to take action. The Deputy Attorney General also revealed that the FBI has received over 1,800 reports of threats or related tips linked to the conflict in Israel and Gaza, resulting in more than 100 investigations.
