Top CNN correspondent John King was absolutely shocked at the idea of Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA) becoming the House Speaker. King went on a rampage, accusing him and his Republican supporters of being “anti-democratic.” The audacity! The Daily Caller caught King’s reaction to a recent exchange between a journalist and Congresswoman Virginia Foxx (R-NC), where Foxx told the journalist to “shut up” for asking about a letter Johnson circulated in 2020. The letter asked Republicans to join him in challenging the 2020 presidential election results in four states. King took the opportunity to praise his “brave” colleagues and share his profound thoughts.

According to King, it is “anti-democratic” for a member of Congress to tell a journalist to “shut up.” Can you believe it? He also claims that Republicans are “anti-free speech” and “anti-questions they don’t like.” How dare they not answer questions they don’t like! King seems to have forgotten that freedom of speech also means the freedom to choose not to speak. But who needs logic when you can accuse people of being anti-democratic?
King has a history of criticizing Republicans, especially during the Trump years. He even lashed out at former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) for sharing footage of the Capitol riots with Tucker Carlson. Clearly, King has a bias against conservatives and is not shy about showing it.
In another instance, ABC correspondent Rachel Scott tried to ask Speaker Johnson about providing more federal aid to Israel and Ukraine. Conservatives are rightly concerned about endless streams of spending. But before Scott could finish her question, she was drowned out by boos from the audience. It’s a shame that Republicans can’t even address valid concerns without facing such hostility.
Democrats are eagerly trying to tie vulnerable House GOP members to Johnson, who is known for his conservative record and willingness to call out his colleagues across the aisle. To add insult to injury, Johnson called out then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi for tearing up President Trump’s State of the Union speech, stating that she committed a felony. Johnson clearly isn’t afraid to speak his mind and stand up for what he believes in.
It’s clear that John King and his liberal colleagues at CNN have a bone to pick with Republicans like Mike Johnson. They throw around words like “anti-democratic” without any regard for logic or facts. It’s refreshing to see conservatives like Johnson who aren’t afraid to push back against the liberal narrative. Keep fighting the good fight!
