When the FBI visited the south Florida home of Donald Trump, they discovered this when searching his safe.
More efforts are being made by the federal government to either imprison Trump or prevent him from standing for office again in 2024. A previous President of the United States has never been politically attacked to this degree in contemporary American history.
The FBI conducted a raid on Mar-a-Lago and Trump's private residence on Monday night as part of an investigation seeking access to the president's records. This involves a number of personal items, including letters from foreign leaders, a letter from former President Barack Obama, and others. Trump's lawyers have often insisted that the records were not preserved for malicious purposes.
Within hours of the raid, the Trump family released a statement expressing shock at how far the country had fallen in the two years after their father was removed from office.
The former president's second son, Eric Trump, revealed the contents of the Mar-a-Lago safe that were seized by the FBI. Eric stated in an interview that he and his father were in New York City during the time that federal officials raided the south Florida resort. According to what they found, the search was fruitless.
Trump claimed in a statement released early Monday morning that FBI investigators had "broken into" his safe and were "besieging" his Florida estate.
