Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is up to her old tricks again, blaming House Republicans for playing “political football” with government spending. She’s whining about the potential harm to federal workers and the economy, but come on, give us a break, AOC!
She’s complaining about avoiding a government shutdown thanks to continuing resolutions passed by the House, but she conveniently forgets to mention that it was those same Republicans who were behind those efforts to keep the government running smoothly. But, of course, that doesn’t fit her narrative!
In a telephone town hall, Ocasio-Cortez made a big fuss, talking about the thousands of federal workers in her community and how missing a paycheck could mean missing a car payment or rent. Boo-hoo! It’s as if she thinks no one else cares about these hardworking Americans. But hey, she’s got to play the victim to score points with her liberal base, right?
She accused Republicans of holding the “economy hostage” and trying to “score political points.” Seriously, AOC? It’s rich coming from someone who constantly uses every opportunity to push her progressive agenda. But no surprise here, she’s always quick to blame the other side for tactics she herself employs.
Ocasio-Cortez even had the audacity to claim that Democrats never hold “the debt limit hostage” because it’s “wrong.” Oh, the hypocrisy! She conveniently forgets how Democrats have played similar games in the past when it suited their agenda. But she’s not interested in facts, just in pointing fingers and stirring up drama.
Now, AOC may be all doom and gloom, but House Republicans are optimistic about passing all 12 appropriations bills without needing another continuing resolution. But, of course, AOC and her fellow Democrats will do everything in their power to make sure that doesn’t happen. After all, they need a crisis to rally their base, don’t they?
