Biden Admin’s Immigration Program Riddled with Fraud and Loopholes

Gangsters and scammers have once again found a way to receive a warm welcome from the Biden administration, this time by exploiting a so-called “parole” immigration program with all the finesse of a sidewalk magician pulling coins from behind someone’s ear. The latest reports indicate that lowlifes were submitting applications to sponsor illegal immigrants using the names of deceased individuals, with dead celebrities occasionally making a cameo—yes, even Michelle Obama had her name pulled into this circus.

This immigration program, hailed by the administration as a compassionate response to crises in Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela, has turned into a sprawling mess. According to an internal audit, the initiative was “well-intentioned”. Still, it ultimately morphed into a playground for fraudsters who aren’t just robbing Americans of their identities but seem to be taking advantage of the very migrants the program was meant to assist. This highlights not only a significant breakdown in oversight but also a remarkable lack of common sense.

Notably, the audit, authored by Michael Mayhew, pointed out that the approval process for sponsors was riddled with loopholes wider than the Grand Canyon. In fact, nearly a thousand applications were reportedly approved using Social Security numbers belonging to the deceased. But one has to wonder: was this just a matter of oversight, or is it an open invitation for anyone with a pulse to get in line? The lack of proper staffing and training at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has proven to be an invitation to fraud, demonstrating that the Biden administration’s talented team of bureaucrats is more interested in processing applications than preventing exploitation.

Despite the glaring red flags, the program, which started with Ukrainians fleeing from Russian aggression, expanded to include a cavalcade of migrants as the year progressed. The administration’s solution to the burgeoning migrant crisis was to create another temporary fix, this time with a loose definition of sponsor—essentially inviting anyone willing to sign their name to the application process. Reports suggest that a lack of legitimate screening allowed applicants to skip through the cracks like it was a high school hallway during lunch.

Biden officials, faced with mounting evidence of systemic fraud, decided to press pause, but when they resumed operations, it appeared more like a lip service than a serious reform mission. The criticisms from former senior agency leaders only amplified the sense of urgency. Instead of prioritizing integrity and safety, the administration appears to be playing a game of immigration limbo, attempting to see just how low they can go while keeping the doors open.

In this whirlwind, the USCIS found itself caught in a comedic opera where the main act is the clock—specifically, how quickly it can process 2.7 million applications with a backlog that could rival some of America’s finest before the current administration has a wake-up call. With scammers selling sponsorships for a pretty penny in Nicaragua, this program could soon have a new title: “How to Monetize U.S. Immigration.” One has to wonder if current policies were written with the intent of turning immigration into a “get-rich-quick” scheme.

In a nutshell, while the government claims it’s tightening restrictions, anyone can see that this is a mere band-aid on a gaping wound. As Homeland Security claims to strengthen vetting processes, it leaves the door wide open for duplicitous characters to make their way to the land of milk and honey. One can only hope that someone in charge starts using the word “stop” with more frequency and consider propriety in a bureaucracy that’s more concerned with throughput than with security. It’s time Washington acknowledges the comedy of errors this has become—not just for the Americans whose identities are at stake, but for the migrants misled by a program that was poorly constructed from the start.
