Biden Military Prioritizes DEI Over Defense Readiness Critics Warn

The Biden-Harris administration seems to have a peculiar fascination with diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, especially when it comes to the military. Recent revelations, courtesy of the Functional Government Initiative, bring to light just how much taxpayer money has been flushed down the DEI toilet. Millions have been paid to outside organizations, demonstrating that the Pentagon is more interested in DEI than in national defense.

Documents laid bare the bizarre alignment of the Defense Department with leftist ideologies, complete with academic institutions and consulting firms joining the circus. These so-called consultants were brought in to create racially and gender-biased hiring practices, advise on DEI policies, and shield these practices from any pushback within the military ranks. It isn’t hard to see why critics are concerned; who knew the plan for a robust military now includes hiring obscure consultants to push an ideology rather than, you know, focusing on combat readiness?

With a proposed budget of nearly $270 million aimed at promoting the DEI agenda between 2022 and 2024, the Defense Department appears to be prioritizing woke initiatives over real military concerns. As the world spins ever closer to chaos, with threats looming from every direction, it seems the Biden administration has its eye on fostering a “sense of belonging” instead of ensuring that our armed forces are simply equipped and ready to defend our freedoms.

The Rand Corporation, part of this DEI extravaganza, has been rewarded handsomely for crafting strategies to combat dissent against these policies. Their report paints a grim picture of resistance against DEI in the ranks, labeling it as “discriminatory” and suggesting that feelings of “White fatigue” and “diversity defiance” are on the rise. Who knew that regulating feelings would be so much more critical than tackling real issues like military efficiency?

The result? A military potentially bogged down by a slew of ideological hurdles rather than being laser-focused on its mission. While the ranks might be busy navigating the uncharted waters of DEI principles, enemies abroad are likely laughing at how easily the U.S. might be distracted from its core responsibilities. If only the Biden administration devoted as much energy to military readiness as it does to implementing policies that confuse equality with equity, perhaps our armed services wouldn’t be ensnared in this politically correct web.
