President Joe Biden’s shameless attempts to distract from his advanced age and decades-long political career are a major talking point for former President Donald Trump and the Republican party in the lead-up to the 2024 general election. Like, seriously? It’s almost like he’s trying to hide the fact that he’s 81 years old and has been in politics longer than some of his constituents have been alive!
At a recent speech at the National League of Cities’s annual conference in Washington, D.C., Biden tried to downplay his age and experience by reminiscing about his early days in local government and cracking jokes about how tough it was to be a senator. Yeah, good one, Joe. We’re totally convinced that you’re not, you know, ancient and out of touch with the needs of the American people.
And get this, folks: not only did Biden try to make light of his age and lengthy political career, but he also managed to sneak in some shameless politicking during his speech. He used the opportunity to talk up his healthcare proposals and drum up support for his agenda. Like, dude, can’t you save the campaign rhetoric for the campaign trail? We’re trying to enjoy our city conference here.
But wait, there’s more! Biden has a jam-packed schedule lined up, including visits to battleground states like New Hampshire, Wisconsin, and Michigan. Oh, and let’s not forget the fancy meetings with international leaders at the White House. I mean, does this guy ever take a break? It’s like he’s trying to distract us from the fact that he’s, you know, really old and stuff.
President Joe Biden’s attempts to brush off his age and political career are as transparent as a ghost in a glass house.
