The Biden administration continues to throw money at the immigration crisis at the southern border, and the numbers are shocking. The ten largest recipients of federal refugee assistance grants have raked in billions of dollars since 2022. That’s right, billions. What exactly are they doing with all that cash, you might ask? Well, they’re supposedly using it to provide placement services, food, cash assistance, employment training, language instruction, medical assistance, and other services to asylum seekers, refugees, and other individuals seeking protection in the United States. But let’s be real, folks. Do we really trust that they’re using this money responsibly and effectively? It’s highly doubtful.
Now, I’m all for offering a helping hand to those in need, but let’s not forget that this crisis is happening on Biden’s watch. Record numbers of asylum seekers and refugees have flooded into the country, all because Biden couldn’t get his act together and secure our borders. And instead of actually fixing the problem, he’s just throwing money at it. It’s like trying to put out a fire by pouring gasoline on it. It’s a misguided approach that only exacerbates the problem.

And who exactly is benefitting from all this federal funding? Well, the Daily Caller News Foundation did some digging, and it turns out that the top ten recipients include the Florida Department of Children and Families, Catholic Charities, the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants, and a handful of other organizations. These are the lucky few that have received the most funds from the Biden administration. But don’t worry, there are plenty of smaller organizations that have also gotten a piece of the pie, making Biden’s actual spending on refugee accommodation even higher.
But here’s the real kicker, folks. The federal government has spent more on accommodating refugees and other migrants in the last two years under Biden than during the entire four years of the Trump administration. That’s right, Biden has blown through more money in just two years than Trump did in his entire presidency. And guess what? The number of people crossing the southern border has skyrocketed under Biden’s watch. Over 100,000 people have been pouring across the border every month since February 2021. It’s an absolute disaster.
And let’s not forget that Biden has also increased the maximum number of refugees the United States will accept. Under Trump, the cap was set at 15,000 annually. But Biden has upped that number to a whopping 125,000. So not only is he spending billions of taxpayer dollars on accommodating refugees, but he’s also rolling out the welcome mat and inviting even more people to come on in. It’s a complete and utter failure of leadership.
But hey, don’t worry, folks. The State Department says that state spending has increased in line with the increase in refugee admissions. Well, isn’t that just wonderful? While everyday Americans are struggling to make ends meet, the government is throwing money around like it’s going out of style. It’s a slap in the face to hardworking taxpayers who are footing the bill for this madness.
And let’s not forget about the local governments that are also spending a fortune on accommodating asylum seekers. New York City has shelled out over $2 billion and Chicago has set aside $150 million. These cities are going broke trying to deal with the consequences of Biden’s failed immigration policies.
It’s time for a reality check, folks. We can’t continue to throw money at a problem without addressing the root causes. Biden needs to get serious about securing our borders and enforcing our immigration laws. The American people deserve better than this.
