As President Joe Biden’s disastrous open-border policies continue to wreak havoc on the United States, one Democratic city is finally feeling the consequences. It seems that the chickens have come home to roost, and they’re boarding buses bound for Los Angeles.
Over the weekend, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) decided to send yet another bus filled to the brim with illegal migrants to the liberal haven of Los Angeles. This comes just days after the city’s own mayor had the audacity to criticize the border state for sending migrants their way. Talk about getting a taste of your own medicine!
The bus arrived at the doorstep of Democrat Mayor Karen Bass, who surely got a rude awakening when she saw 39 illegal migrants plopped right in her lap. Oh, the irony! Mayor Bass was quick to express her dismay, calling Abbott’s actions “evil” and accusing him of intentionally endangering them during a rainstorm. It’s quite amusing to see the left squirm when they have to deal with the consequences of their own misguided policies.
But let’s not forget the facts. Abbott’s press secretary, Andrew Mahaleris, clarified that these illegal aliens willingly boarded the bus, having signed a voluntary consent waiver. The bus drivers were fully aware of the weather conditions and took precautionary measures to ensure the safety of those on board. The migrants themselves chose to go to Los Angeles and agreed upon the destination. It’s astounding how quickly the left likes to play the victim card and deflect blame when it suits their narrative.

In reality, it’s the Biden administration’s fault that we find ourselves in this mess. The humanitarian crisis at the border is a direct result of their open-border policies. Record numbers of illegal immigrants, drugs, and contraband are pouring into our country, overwhelming our resources and burdening our cities. Gov. Abbott is merely doing what he can to provide some relief to these overrun border communities.
It’s high time Mayor Bass stops her whining and directs her outrage towards the right target: President Biden. He should be the one held accountable for failing to secure our border and protect American citizens. But alas, it’s much easier for the left to deflect, cast blame, and play the victim. If only they could confront the reality of their own misguided policies and take responsibility for the mess they’ve created.
In the meantime, Gov. Abbott will continue to do what he can to safeguard his state and ensure the safety of his citizens. If that means bussing over 30,000 migrants to Democrat-led cities who claim to champion open borders, then so be it. Maybe experiencing the consequences firsthand will finally open their eyes to the disaster that is the Biden administration’s border policies.
