Biden’s CBS Interview: Exhausted and Out of Touch Amid Crises and Internal Party Strife

Joe Biden’s latest interview with CBS News has provided more confirmation than revelation. Yet again, he managed to paint himself as a man out of his depth, appearing utterly exhausted as he navigates the chaos of a world replete with crises—most notably, the simmering conflict in the Middle East. While Americans might expect their president to display a semblance of vigor and focus, the sight of Biden dozing on the beach encapsulates just how checked out he really is. This lack of engagement raises a vital question: who is actually running the country during Biden’s prolonged absence of leadership?

In a startling admission, Biden suggested that he was pushed out of the race by powerhouse Democrats, which is not entirely surprising given that party elites have been mumbling about his unpopularity since he took office. Specifically, he laid the blame at the feet of Nancy Pelosi, implying she had a hand in rallying the forces against him. This suggests that even his own party sees the writing on the wall: Biden—once touted as the candidate who would unite the country—has instead turned into the old news no one wants to back. His worries about being a distraction for fellow Democrats may be the understatement of the year, especially since everyone knows that a Biden candidacy could spell electoral doom for the entire party.

Contrary to Biden’s claim that he voluntarily stepped aside, the consensus is that he left like a deflated balloon—out of breath and gasping for relevance. His last Oval Office address felt more like a desperate plea to hang onto power rather than a celebration of his “accomplishments.” If the administration wanted a tangible sign of failure, all one had to do was listen to his slurred speech, which hinted at the underlying issues he faced: rampant delusions and a desire for a second term that he clearly wasn’t prepared to back up with performance. After all, having a Republican majority in the House isn’t exactly conducive to a presidential legacy.

As for Pelosi, while her public theatrics often leave something to be desired, she is as ruthless behind the scenes as they come. Her maneuvering has clearly exposed the Biden White House’s deficiencies. Despite all her claims that she didn’t orchestrate any revolts against Biden, the reality mirrors the Mafia: deny the involvement while pulling the strings from the shadows. It speaks volumes about the internal rifts within a party that once rallied behind an aging figure who has now become a political liability.

When Biden finally faced Donald Trump in a debate that could have sealed his fate, he mumbled about needing to rest more and perhaps skipping late-night events altogether. This admission underscored a long-standing suspicion that he simply doesn’t have what it takes anymore.
The Democratic Party has clearly decided that they cannot afford to have a candidate this weak at the helm if they plan to remain competitive. Now, they find themselves managed by an eccentric Minnesotan with a dubious military background and an outspoken woman without a single primary vote to her name, who is now trying to pilfer policies from Trump.

The questions posed during this interview were another cringe-worthy spectacle, showcasing the media’s continued affection for Biden, even when the reality begs for hard-hitting inquiries. The lack of challenge in the phrasing of questions made the entire interview feel more like a promotional event for a retired actor rather than a critical evaluation of the man leading the country. With each softball thrown, Biden glorified his mishaps, like the eternal “fine people” mischaracterization regarding Charlottesville, without facing any real resistance. Thus, it comes as no surprise to anyone paying attention that this administration’s support remains artificially inflated, serving only to mask the impending reality of a party in disarray.
