Biden’s Debt Forgiveness: Buying Votes with YOUR Money!

Nearly 153,000 student loan debt holders got quite the surprise in their inboxes Wednesday as President Joe Biden graced them with a personal email. But folks, this isn’t your typical friendly note from the commander in chief. No, no, this email contained a golden ticket of sorts: the promise of student loan forgiveness. Yes, you heard that right. Joe Biden wants to play Santa Claus with your hard-earned tax dollars.

The email boasted about Biden’s Student Aid for Vocational and Educational program, which he rolled out last year. Under this program, borrowers with $12,000 or less in student loans can kiss their debt goodbye after 10 years of payments, and the time frame goes up for those who borrowed more.

The email also featured a heartwarming message from ol’ Joe himself about how this relief will give people the breathing room they need. Yeah, right. Like we’re supposed to forget all about the fact that he’s essentially buying votes by wiping out people’s debts and making taxpayers foot the bill.

But here’s the kicker: these direct emails from Biden are only going out to the lucky ducks who get to benefit from this debt forgiveness scheme. That’s right, the White House is using federal student aid to butter up specific voters and ensure they owe the president a debt of gratitude. Isn’t that just peachy?

And let’s not even get started on the optics of it all. A bunch of young people posting screenshots of a personal email from Joe Biden letting them off the hook for their debt is a much better look for the president than videos of him struggling to put a sentence together or hobbling up to the podium.

And to make matters worse, the White House is flat out admitting that these emails are a way to raise the profile of the “benefits” they’re offering and encourage more borrowers to take advantage of them. Can you say shameless political maneuvering?

But wait, there’s more. A top administration official even let slip that the emails are meant to “make sure emails get opened.” It’s like they think we can’t see through their thinly veiled attempt to buy votes.

This whole charade reeks of electioneering, folks. Rather than sending notifications to all affected borrowers through the Department of Education, Biden is going for the personal touch, hoping to overwhelm folks with his supposed largesse and curry their favor before the next election. It’s like sending people a $10 Starbucks card and hoping they’ll vote for you, but on a much grander and more shameless scale.

In an op-ed calling out this shameless ploy, one contributor hit the nail on the head by saying, “A republic can only be as legitimate as its elections are honest. And when a politician pays voters for their votes, whether with his own money or with the voters’ own neighbors’ money, he turns the nation’s election into a colossal fraud.” Amen to that.

If this is what American politics is coming to, we’re in for a world of trouble. We can’t let these wealthy elites who hate our values and our country buy their way into power. We need to band together and fight back against this shameless manipulation.
