Biden’s Gaza Port Plan: Taxpayer-Funded Handout to Hamas?

Whoa, people better hold on to their hats because the Biden administration is back at it! In order to establish a port off the coast of Gaza, a U.S. military vessel has sailed for the Middle East. Yes, this is where you heard it first! Less than 36 hours after President Joe Biden made some major announcements during his Thursday night State of the Union address, USAV General Frank S. Besson (LSV-1) departed Joint Base Langley-Estis, Virginia. The president asserts that in order to flood the strip with humanitarian aid, he gave the military orders to create this port. But let's face it, the Biden administration consistently makes bold statements without considering the ramifications.

According to U.S. Central Command, this logistical support vessel will transport the first cargo of supplies to establish a makeshift pier for the delivery of humanitarian aid. It is estimated that more than a thousand US troops and two months will be needed to get this project operational. You may wonder what the plan is once it is constructed. Aid will be transported by large vessels to the floating pier, where it will be unloaded into Navy support ships for the purpose of traveling to a causeway and landing. All of that sounds great, but how much will it cost us, the taxpayers, in total?

Remembering why any of this is even occurring is important. It appears that there is a "growing humanitarian crisis" in Gaza. However, the reality that a large portion of this mayhem is being caused by Hamas, the terrorist group in charge there, is not mentioned. According to reports, President Biden's pier plan has the support of Israeli authorities, who are urging Israel to permit additional aid to enter Gaza. This just serves to reinforce the left's narrative that portrays Israel as the villain in this situation, despite the fact that they are the targets of terrorist attacks in which defenseless bystanders are used as human shields.

It seems as though the Biden administration is merely providing financial support to Hamas without tackling the underlying issue. And if you believe that this port would fix every issue, you should reconsider. It turns out that criminal groups are stealing humanitarian aid, plundering it, and reselling it. U.S. officials are still having trouble getting aid to the people who actually need it. What a catastrophe! Naturally, though, the Biden administration believes that a flashy new port will solve all of their problems.

The shocking thing is that transporting aid into Gaza via land via Israel is probably the most effective and economical route. But the Biden administration isn't seeking for a spectacular, eye-catching solution like that. Rather than cooperating with Israel to find a workable solution, they would prefer to deploy a military vessel halfway across the globe. Normal!

As if things couldn't get any more bizarre, the United States is now airdropping supplies into Gaza. Yes, you read correctly. It resembles a scenario from an action movie, except instead of being a scene from a film, the Biden administration is in charge here. What a lucky moment to be alive!

Not to be overlooked are the ongoing discussions between Israel and Hamas regarding a cease-fire. The Biden administration is advocating for a short-term cease-fire agreement that would see a large infusion of humanitarian supplies in return for the liberation of Hamas hostages. However, it appears that Hamas is not too fond of the plan, and they are asserting that Israel is the one impeding the agreement. It resembles a high-stakes game of chess when the lives of innocent people are at risk.

In the end, it is evident that the Biden administration is taking a superficial approach to the Gaza problem. They're displaying their military might and making grand gestures, but they're not addressing the core of the issue. It's time to put an end to political gamesmanship and focus on the pressing problems at hand. But really, with a military vessel prepared to sail into the sunset, who needs common sense?
