Biden’s Grand Exit: Self-Serving Swansong Leaves America In Turmoil Yet Again

Joe Biden’s grand exit from office could not have been more predictable. True to form, he left with the same kind of whirlwind of self-serving political maneuvering that defined his presidency. It seems the only thing Biden effectively protected during his term was his own inner circle, while the rest of the nation was left to fend for itself.

Throughout his administration, Biden managed to prioritize the needs and interests of his closest allies over the American public. This pattern of governance suggests that his commitment to “protect and defend” the nation was more about protecting his political standing and ensuring that pals were well taken care of. The final weeks of his term were no exception; they were filled with policy decisions that appeared crafted more for personal gain than for the welfare of the electorate.

The president’s approach to governance has often been likened to an overzealous magician who distracts the audience with smoke and mirrors. With every decision, he tried to conjure greatness, while in reality, the hand was firmly planted in his own pocket. Biden’s administration has been marked by a string of executive actions that seem designed to benefit his friends rather than to address pressing national issues. In doing so, he has left the country with significant challenges that will take far more than just applause and bipartisan back-patting to resolve.

A keen observer would note that under Biden’s watch, critical issues like inflation and border security somehow fell to the backburner. Instead, the president busied himself with initiatives that boosted his party’s agenda while disregarding the long-term consequences for the average American. One can only wonder how he might address states like Texas and Florida when they asked for help, not orders to comply with nonsensical mandates crafted behind closed doors.

As the curtains fall on a presidency characterized by favor-currying and political gamesmanship, the American people are left scratching their heads. While Biden and his allies enjoyed the spoils of their labor, the rest of the country will be left to pick up the pieces and face the daunting reality of the choices made during those self-indulgent years. In the end, it appears the only thing Biden successfully governed was his ambition—at least that was certainly a full-time job.
