In yet another episode of media bias masquerading as “journalism,” CNN’s Kasie Hunt has performed the latest round of idol-worship for Vice President Kamala Harris, praising her beauty while ignoring her utter lack of substance. The segment, typical of the leftist echo chamber, saw Hunt essentially drooling over Harris, treating her political candidacy like a glossy magazine cover as if style alone could overshadow her questionable qualifications.
The highlight of Hunt’s segment was a soundbite from Donald Trump, who remarked on a recent Time Magazine cover featuring Harris — or rather, a highly flattering artistic rendition of her that appeared to have been crafted by a team of enthusiastic kindergarteners. Trump couldn’t resist poking fun at the magazine’s choice, asserting that it was lesser than his photogenic self. This commentary seemed to send Hunt into a frenzy, underlining the reality that, for her, physical attributes can trump reality in politics.

The predictable backdrop of applause for decent-looking Democrats continues to rear its head. Political analyst Mark McKinnon sought to contextualize Trump’s comments, pointing out how the media and political elite think they can ignore Harris’s glaring deficiencies by wrapping her in a narrative of beauty and charm. He brought up Peggy Noonan’s assertion that Harris is a product of a “movement” rather than a leader, which only raises eyebrows regarding the authenticity of this supposed movement. The idea that a movement truly created Harris is ironically fitting when one considers that the movement might actually stem from her ability to switch positions faster than most change their socks.
As if that wasn’t fun enough, the credibility of Harris’s campaign is being undermined by the very people who should be supporting her. Former White House Communications Director Kate Beningfield lamented the rift within the Republican Party while boasting about the Democratic establishment’s stature. However, her argument was swiftly overshadowed by the reality that any forthright discussion about Kamala must also include a disclaimer of her notorious gaffes and broken promises, which are glossy-finish style over substance at best.
Meanwhile, Hunt continued fixating on superficial assessments, pushing the idea that a woman’s appearance plays a crucial role in her political viability. This standard is hardly surprising, given the media’s double standards. Any conservative who might dare to discuss the looks of a left-leaning candidate would be instantly labeled a sexist. Yet, praising Kamala Harris is almost a required virtue in liberal media circles, where a pretty face can mask the harsh truths of incompetence.
In stark contrast, a much-needed reality check looms. A former intern’s father exposed the ruthless side of Harris during her time as California Attorney General, painting a picture of a leader who berated her team and tossed around profanity like confetti. This side of Harris’s persona gets conveniently swept under the rug as the media focuses on the untouchable aura of beauty. The national media’s collective amnesia regarding her behavior juxtaposed with their gushing admiration only reflects their hypocrisy, revealing how the left’s narrative relies more on style points than actual governance.
