The charges against Hunter Biden involve allegations of deceptive actions when purchasing a firearm, including falsifying information about his drug addiction. If convicted, he could face severe penalties, including a lengthy prison sentence and significant fines. Moreover, the trial is expected to explore Hunter Biden’s history of drug use in connection to the firearm purchase. Prosecutors are tasked with proving that he knowingly lied about his drug dependency on the background check form.

The defense has raised objections and requested additional revisions to jury instructions, arguing about the interpretation of terms such as “user” and “addict,” emphasizing Hunter Biden’s understanding of these terms at the time of the firearm purchase. Furthermore, the prosecution plans to bring in witnesses close to Hunter Biden, including his ex-wife, the widow of his brother, and his child’s mother.
