Kamala’s Picks Show Desperate Pattern Similar to Clinton’s 2016 Flop

Tim Kaine, remember him? He was the Spanglish-speaking, dad-joke-generating wingman who Hillary Clinton selected during her ill-fated 2016 campaign. The choice represented a desperate attempt to cloak her far-left agenda in a package that screamed “Joe Six-Pack.” Spoiler alert: it didn’t work.

At some point in her decision-making process, one has to wonder if Clinton wished for a John Smith to balance out her radicalism. But instead, she rolled with Tim, a name so Americana it practically wears a plaid shirt and chews gum. It seems Kamala Harris took the same route of desperation by hitching her wagon to another “Tim”—Tim Walz, the current Minnesota governor. Like Kaine, he plays the role of the “folksy” everyman while firmly steering the ship of the Democratic Party toward the iceberg of socialism.

Walz, much like his 2016 predecessor, is anything but average when it comes to his politics. His tenure in Minnesota has been characterized by a full embrace of progressive policies that make taxes rise faster than a Minnesota summer thermostat. While he may sport a flannel shirt and claim to be one of the people, don’t be fooled by that external charm; he has driven Minnesota into the depths of leftist policies faster than the average blue-state governor.

Kaine might have been a tad more centrist back in the day, where the left hadn’t completely lost its mind yet. That was before the Democrats embraced what can only be described as a buffet-style of radical ideologies, including LGBT, BLM, and COVID hysteria. If the folksy facade didn’t endear voters to Kaine, it’s highly unlikely that Walz’s so-called “average guy” vibe will work any better for Harris two election cycles later.

Walz’s actual record is about as “relatable” as a billion-dollar tech CEO. Under his watch, Minnesota has seen its fair share of Antifa protests, BLM chaos, and the heavy-handed rules that defined “COVID tyranny.” Plus, he’s thrown traditional values under the bus, endorsing policies that put tampons in boys’ bathrooms while pretending to be one of the average folks. The folksiness only goes so far—when it comes to the Harris-Walz ticket, many predict that Americans will see through the facade just as they did with the Clinton-Kaine dynamic back in 2016.
