In recent developments, President Trump’s administration has taken significant steps to address the persistent issue of illegal immigration at the southern border. With mass deportations rolling out, it has become evident that the administration is not merely paying lip service to border enforcement but is delivering what Trump supporters have demanded for years.
The numbers speak volumes. So far, over 3,500 individuals have been rounded up, many of whom are not just here illegally but have criminal pasts. We are talking about serious offenses, ranging from violent crimes to child endangerment by notorious gang members; they are not simply run-of-the-mill border crossers. It’s a relief to hear that such dangerous elements are being removed from our borders, though with approximately 11 million more waiting in the shadows, the journey is still uphill.
Still, the response from certain liberal bastions across the country, where crime is no stranger, has been bewildering. Instead of rallying around the idea of a safer America, these cities and states appear more concerned with protecting those who have disregarded U.S. laws. Chicago’s leadership seems more occupied with preserving an alleged sense of “humanity” rather than prioritizing safety and legality.
New York remains no exception to this curious phenomenon. Here, concern is vocalized more for the rights of those with no legal standing in the country rather than the victims of crimes committed by illegal aliens. It raises the question: when did the balance shift so dramatically against law-abiding citizens who simply wish to live peacefully in their homeland? Not to mention, this shift proves to be a financial burden on taxpayers and contributes to job scarcity for legal residents.
The Trump administration’s approach, particularly its portrayal of illegal immigrants as criminals, seems to ruffle feathers, especially within elite circles. Perhaps it’s the realization that those who undermine our legal system are indeed committing federal crimes just by entering the country illegally. One can only chuckle at the audacity of the opposition, who act as though a crime isn’t a crime when committed by a non-citizen.
In the grand scheme of things, this enforcement is about upholding the law, providing security, and ensuring opportunities for American workers and lawful immigrants. The notion is simple: uphold America’s sovereignty and do right by its citizens. The administration’s actions are a testament to that commitment, regardless of comparisons to regimes of the past by those who are seemingly losing the argument. America’s doors should always be open to those who respect its laws; insistence on legality is not just rightful but necessary for a nation’s health and future.
