New York Magazine, that bastion of far-left lunacy, has once again delivered a masterclass in irony. The publication faced backlash following charges that it edited its coverage of Donald Trump’s 47th inauguration to exclude Black individuals from its images. This article, aptly titled “Cruel Kids’ Table,” aimed to portray Trump’s supporters as a sea of whiteness, but instead only showcased the media’s desperation to fit a narrative that simply doesn’t stand up to reality.
The crux of the controversy lies in NYMag’s cover photo, which underwent a little digital “enhancement” to make it appear as if Trump’s supporters were just one homogenous block of white faces. This blatant act of selective editing was caught by eagle-eyed Twitter users—because nothing goes unnoticed in today’s digital age—and resulted in widespread ridicule and outrage over what many have dubbed the mainstream media’s shameful act of racial erasure. Yes, folks, when the left can’t find evidence that doesn’t support their own narrative, they just erase it.

Brock Colyar, the NYMag writer on this heartwarming tale, lamented an influx of “casually cruel Trumpers” into Washington, insinuating they were living their best lives while disregarding serious issues, as if flinging insults in an attempt to mask his bitterness over the November elections. The writer claimed that almost everyone at the TikTok-sponsored “Power 30 Awards” was white, despite the presence of a Black host. Can’t have it both ways, Brock.
Given the circumstances, it was Christopher Barnard, a conservative commentator, who delivered the knockout punch. Exposing the ridiculousness of NYMag’s claims, he pointed out the glaring truth: all of the Black faces were digitally removed from the photo, a move so outrageous that it almost demands a dedicated chapter in the next edition of “How Not to Report on Race.” Barnard shared the unedited image, which featured scores of Black attendees, thus confirming that New York Magazine might have a slight problem with reality—or perhaps it was just operating under a different set of facts.
Adding fuel to the fire, influential conservative CJ Pearson took to social media to highlight the absurdity of the situation. He jokingly questioned how he would explain to his friends, who just so happen to be Black, that according to NYMag, they were all somehow white now. This comedic twist speaks to a broader truth: the Left’s insatiable quest to shape narratives often leads to them being caught in their own traps. If nothing else, this incident stands as a hilarious reminder that the truth will out, even when the media tries to bury it.
