In a rather revealing episode on “Meet The Press,” Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro found himself caught in a classic political conundrum, attempting to sing the praises of Vice President Kamala Harris while artfully dodging any mention of her actual policies compared to President Biden. When pressed about key policy differences, Shapiro proved as slippery as a greased pig at a county fair. He talked a lot but essentially said very little, which is a skill that seems to be as common among Democrats as avocado toast in a Brooklyn café.
Kristen Welker, the NBC host, had the audacity to ask Shapiro if he could name a single policy distinction between the two. Instead of delivering a robust response, Shapiro launched into a monologue about Harris’s commitment to tax cuts for small businesses and childcare tax credits—both noble pursuits, no doubt. However, his non-answer only highlighted the glaring truth: when it comes to differences, the most Shapiro could muster was a vague nod toward shared priorities that reflect the Biden Administration’s floundering philosophy.
Dem. Gov. Josh Shapiro can't name a single policy difference between Kamala Harris and Joe Biden.

The governor’s failure to pinpoint a single policy divergence has less to do with a lack of knowledge and more with the reality that there’s not much daylight between Biden and Harris—both seem committed to policies that continue to haunt American households. It’s as if they’re running a two-for-one special on bad ideas and Shapiro, intended to be a party spokesperson, couldn’t quite bring himself to acknowledge that the emperor has no clothes. Instead, he deftly redirected the conversation toward former President Donald Trump, a classic Democratic maneuver that serves as a distraction but doesn’t answer any actual questions.
Meanwhile, tension is simmering within the Democratic camp, with reports that Harris has recently begun giving Biden the cold shoulder. It’s reminiscent of a dysfunctional family holiday dinner where everyone senses the underlying tension but pretends it isn’t there, and the sit-down meal consists mainly of silent stares across the table. As the election looms, Harris has apparently taken it upon herself to redefine her political identity. Good luck with that!
It remains to be seen how the voters will react to her self-proclaimed status as a “change candidate.” After all, claiming to represent new ideas while being part of an administration that is largely seen as a disaster is like trying to sell old socks in a high-end boutique. The contrast Harris attempts to draw might just end up highlighting the vast chasm between the reality of the current administration’s record and any genuine connection voters might feel toward their leadership. The only real change voters would welcome is a change in leadership altogether, something the Democrats seem decidedly backward in addressing.
