In a fiery appearance on Fox News’s America’s Newsroom, Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) did not hold back in celebrating the passage of the Laken Riley Act while calling out her Democratic counterparts for voting against it. The legislation, named after University of Georgia student Laken Riley, seeks to prevent similar tragedies by requiring immigration officials to detain immigrants charged with crimes. And let’s face it, folks, who wouldn’t want that? Well, apparently the Democrats, that’s who!
Stefanik didn’t mince words, folks. She made it clear that House Republicans are all about securing our borders, and Laken Riley’s unfortunate demise was nothing short of a catastrophe caused by Joe Biden’s reckless open border policies. I mean, can you believe that? It’s just another example of the chaos and carnage caused by the left’s pursuit of open borders. Unbelievable! Stefanik didn’t stop there, folks. And get this, the legislation passed with a vote of 251 to 170, with 37 Democratic representatives actually voting for the measure. Okay, that’s all well and good, but where were the rest of the Democrats? What are they afraid of? Let’s be real, folks, it’s quite a shame that many Democrats are choosing to ignore the need for this crucial piece of legislation. It’s just mind-boggling!
To add insult to injury, during the State of the Union address, the House Republican’s speaker’s balcony will have an empty chair in honor of Laken Riley. That’s right, her parents turned down an invitation to attend the presidential address in Washington. It’s heart-wrenching, folks. Stefanik’s heart truly goes out to Laken’s parents, and she’s determined to keep fighting for border security with the Secure the Border Act. It’s all about preventing unnecessary loss of life; it’s just common sense, folks.

And if all of that wasn’t outrageous enough, get this: Jose Ibarra, the alleged perpetrator, was arrested in the United States prior to the crime, and authorities knew he was an illegal immigrant! Can you believe it? But instead of deporting him, they let him loose and look what happened. It’s a disgrace, folks. An absolute disgrace.
