The proposed plan to “level the site and get rid of the destroyed buildings” is a reflection of a larger principle that conservatives often advocate: that sometimes one must start from scratch to achieve real success. Critics may raise eyebrows at this notion, but as Trump suggests, how many years must pass before something effective is done? The time has come for serious consideration of not just keeping the peace, but creating it through radical innovation.
