Trump Revokes Security Access for Top Democrats Bragg Blinken and James

President Trump has decided to make a bold move reminiscent of his time in office, revoking security clearances from several key figures in the Democratic party. The Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, former Secretary of State Antony Blinken, and New York Attorney General Letitia James can now officially add “no longer welcome in federal buildings” to their resumes. It’s like a retirement package, but instead of a gold watch, they get a shiny new “Do Not Enter” sign.

This decision comes on the heels of President Trump previously announcing he’d pulled former President Biden’s security clearances. Apparently, there’s really no reason for Biden to have access to classified information—perhaps he already mislaid the briefings on how to find his own socks. With Trump’s latest actions, it seems he’s flexing his muscles in the security clearance department, sending a clear message: “No security clearances for you, and good luck getting in those federal buildings!”

Some might argue that stripping Bragg, Blinken, and James of their security clearances could obstruct them in performing their official duties. Not being able to access courthouses and government offices? It’s almost as if they’ll need an actual badge to get past the front desk. Will they have to apply for a guest pass now? The joke may just be that the Democrats can’t enter their favorite haunts anymore—Foley Square has officially become a no-go zone for them.

On top of that, Trump is eyeing a few more names for his clearance vacation list, such as former National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and former Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco. It appears Trump’s got his sights set on clearing the playing field and making sure those who’ve tangled with him in the past aren’t welcome to strategize from behind a federal desk.

Legal experts, like former lawyer for Michael Cohen, acknowledge that the loss of security clearances is more of an insult than a serious setback. It’s a bit like being uninvited to a party that was probably going to be awkward anyway. So let’s raise a toast to the latest developments in Trump’s game of political chess—where the pawns have been sent packing and the kings are left baffled on the board. It seems Trump continues to enjoy the thrill of shaking things up in Washington, D.C., while leaving his opponents navigating the mess he expertly leaves behind.
