Ashley Biden, the daughter of President Joe Biden, has once again found herself in the midst of controversy. This time, it’s because she owes $5,000 in income taxes dating back to 2015. The Pennsylvania Department of Revenue recently sent her a tax lien notice, stating that the unpaid taxes and related charges are now a lien on her property. It’s not a great look for the first daughter, especially considering her father’s position as president.

Despite this hiccup, Ashley Biden has an interesting background. She is the only child of President Biden and Dr. Jill Biden, and she has two half-siblings, Hunter Biden and the late Beau Biden. Ashley attended the Wilmington Friends School, a private high school in Delaware, and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in cultural anthropology from Tulane University. She later received a master’s degree in social work from the University of Pennsylvania.
Originally, Ashley had aspirations of becoming a therapist, but she ended up following in her father’s footsteps and pursuing a career in public policy. She served as the executive director at the Delaware Center for Justice from 2014 to 2019 before joining her father’s presidential campaign. In 2012, she married Dr. Howard Krein, whom she was set up with by her brother, Beau. Dr. Krein is an otolaryngologist and plastic surgeon.
Unfortunately, Ashley Biden has had her fair share of scandals. In 2009, there was a video allegedly showing her snorting cocaine at a house party. Although The Post refused to pay for the video and it was never released, it certainly raised eyebrows. Additionally, during her father’s 2020 presidential campaign, portions of Ashley’s diary were stolen and leaked to conservative media outlets. One passage in particular, where she wrote about taking showers with her father as a young girl, caused quite a stir.
It seems that Ashley Biden is no stranger to controversy. While owing $5,000 in taxes may not be the most egregious offense, it adds to her already tarnished reputation. Only time will tell if she can put these scandals behind her and move forward in a more positive light.
