A career criminal with 14 arrests just murdered an innocent Ukrainian refugee on a Charlotte train. The killer stabbed Iryna Zarutska to death while she sat helplessly in front of security cameras. Now liberal activists want to raise money for the murderer.
Multiple GoFundMe pages popped up for Decarlos Brown Jr., the 34-year-old killer. These sick fundraisers claimed Brown was the real victim here. They said he suffered from racism and a broken justice system.
One fundraiser actually said Brown was just as much a victim as the woman he butchered. Another page blamed North Carolina for failing Brown with mental health services. They want Americans to pay his legal bills while a grieving family plans a funeral.
The fundraising pages called this a fight against racism and bias. They painted a cold-blooded killer as some kind of hero. These people have lost their minds and forgotten right from wrong.
Americans saw through this disgusting scheme immediately. Outraged citizens demanded GoFundMe shut down these vile fundraisers. Social media exploded with anger over anyone supporting a brutal murderer.
GoFundMe finally caved to pressure and removed the pages. They refunded the money to donors who fell for this scam. The company said fundraising for accused criminals breaks their rules.
This whole mess shows how broken our culture has become. We now live in a world where activists defend killers and attack victims. A hardworking Ukrainian woman came here seeking safety and found death instead.
Iryna Zarutska deserved protection, not this nightmare. Her killer belongs in prison, not on a fundraising website. Real Americans know the difference between right and wrong, even when our leaders have forgotten.
