The Left’s latest campaign targeting America’s history is a dangerous distortion aimed at tearing down the very foundation of our nation. By branding the United States as a “settler colonial” regime that oppressed indigenous populations, radical academics and globalist elites rewrite our story with poisonous falsehoods. This narrative dismisses the truth: America was built on courage, ambition, and the relentless pursuit of opportunity—values that turned a wilderness into a powerful, free society. The effort to equate America’s progress with colonial exploitation is a politically motivated attack designed to shame patriotism and undermine national pride.
This ideological assault is not a fringe movement; it’s being championed by influential figures in top universities and international bodies, including those with ties to the United Nations. These elites disparage America and cling to a warped view that equates our fight against terrorism with the kind of “genocidal” violence they absurdly accuse Israel of, while excusing groups like Hamas with their stated goal of Israel’s destruction. This narrative sows division and weakens American solidarity, promoting anti-Israel and anti-American sentiment on campuses and beyond. This is a calculated attack on the unique partnership between America and Israel, and on the values that have kept both nations strong.

At its core, the Left’s hostility targets the very engines of American success: capitalism, innovation, and hard work. They insist that merely settling land and building property is a moral failing, ignoring the complex realities of history. Native tribes were often engaged in violent conflict long before Europeans arrived. America did not reject populations; it embraced millions seeking liberty and economic mobility, creating an unprecedented engine of opportunity. This historical context is lost on radical progressives eager to cast America solely as a villain, erasing the incredible improvements in living standards and freedom that have shaped the modern world.
This anti-Western narrative conveniently dovetails with the Left’s environmental extremism, conflating capitalism with climate guilt to undermine American industry and energy independence. Yet, capitalism has lifted more people out of poverty than any other system, including in former communist countries like China, which abandoned failed leftist policies to embrace free markets and entrepreneurship. The Left’s call for rejecting this success and embracing self-imposed moral failure is not only reckless but runs counter to the prosperity Americans cherish. It is a thinly veiled rejection of national achievement and an invitation to economic decline.
The true danger lies in the Left’s fantasy of peaceful indigenous innocence, ignoring the full complexity of history where conflict was ubiquitous and survival often meant strength and resilience. Their effort to paint America as a uniquely evil colonial power is intellectually dishonest and historically ignorant. This attempt to erase the legacy of Western civilization threatens the freedoms and opportunities that generations of patriots fought and died to secure. Americans must reject this corrosive ideology and reclaim pride in a nation defined not by guilt, but by boldness, liberty, and progress.
