Senator Banks has pushed back with concrete proposals to stop taxpayer-funded boondoggles from enabling our adversary and to force U.S. firms to put America first.
Americans must demand a muscular industrial policy that protects the chip supply chain, funds domestic R&D, and conditions support on real commitments to keep technology on our side. This isn’t socialism; it’s common-sense national defense — the kind of investment that preserves jobs, innovation, and the freedoms we cherish.
We should also stop romanticizing the tech elites who cheerlead for globalization while cashing out in Beijing’s markets. If private capital won’t safeguard America, then Congress and the executive branch must use targeted pressure — tariffs, export controls, and procurement preferences — to ensure American innovation fuels American strength.
Senator Banks is sounding the alarm for a reason. Conservatives who love this country must back bold measures to ensure we lead the 21st century rather than play catch-up with an authoritarian rival. This is the kind of clarity and toughness Americans voted for; now it’s time to deliver results.
The choice is simple: invest in American advantage or watch a rival harvest the future. Hardworking patriots should demand leadership that treats the AI race as the national emergency it is and acts like winning is nonnegotiable.
