It might sound like a punchline, but Democrats are actually considering Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as a possible presidential candidate. Yes, you heard that right! As hard as it is to believe, some people think the Instagram influencer turned congresswoman has what it takes to run the country. Let’s be real about this. The bench for the Democratic Party these days is shallow. They’re so desperate for a viable candidate that they’re considering someone whose policy positions are often in line with utopian, pie-in-the-sky fantasies rather than reality.
Once again, the Democrats show their true colors with figures like James Carville ready to jump on board with whomever. Carville’s recent comments may as well say, “It doesn’t matter how far out of touch with reality our candidates are—as long as they win, we’re all-in.” That kind of strategy screams collectivism! It flies in the face of what this nation was built on: rugged individualism and plain old common sense. Isn’t that what American elections have become? A popularity contest more than a contest of values and capability?

Look at the state of the party. Just a few years ago, they put up Kamala Harris as a contender, and the results were predictably disastrous. Propped up by party insiders without the support of primary voters, she was unlikeable and ineffective—a recipe for failure, and the voters knew it. Yet, Democrats keep doubling down on flawed approaches. In stark contrast, Republicans might take a little longer at agreeing on a candidate, but at least they’re more likely to consider real qualifications over social media presence.
AOC for President? Her campaign trail would be a train wreck—one that most Americans would probably want to avoid altogether. Can you imagine the debates? Imagine her floundering up there against a formidable conservative voice like JD Vance, making it painfully clear to everyone just how unprepared she is to lead. The spectacle of the Democrats rallying behind an impractical idealist is precisely why they are losing support across the country. The American people are rejecting their out-of-touch globalist agenda.
But let’s savor this for a moment—the irony of it all. Here we have a party so divided and desperate that they’re dangling the possibility of AOC at the top of the ticket. What does that say about the future of the Democratic Party? When they pick such a wild card, they hand conservatives a golden opportunity once again. And that opportunity spells disaster for them and another victory for the American way of life and values. So keep on making those mistakes, Democrats. We certainly won’t stop you.
