Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is facing a federal investigation for serious immigration violations. Border Czar Tom Homan has publicly confirmed the probe into allegations that she employed an illegal immigrant on her congressional staff and instructed others on evading immigration enforcement. These actions could constitute federal felonies under U.S. Code §1324 and §1324a.
Homan revealed that ICE is actively investigating AOC for hiring a criminal alien who later fled the country. This individual reportedly had access to sensitive congressional information, raising national security concerns. The investigation focuses on whether AOC crossed legal boundaries by providing guidance on avoiding ICE detection.
This isn’t the first clash between Homan and the congresswoman. Earlier this year, Homan labeled AOC “the dumbest congresswoman ever elected” after she hosted webinars advising immigrants how to interact with ICE. He accused her of deliberately obstructing immigration enforcement while she defended her actions as educating people about constitutional rights.
AOC previously sought clarification from Attorney General Pam Bondi about whether she was under investigation, showing her awareness of these allegations. Her letter to the Justice Department in February 2025 highlighted the political tension surrounding immigration enforcement tactics.
The situation exposes a dangerous pattern of putting illegal immigrants before American citizens. Hiring someone who violated federal immigration laws demonstrates reckless disregard for national security protocols. Congressional offices should uphold laws, not break them.
Teaching people how to evade lawful deportation orders is unacceptable from any elected official. These actions undermine immigration authorities and disrespect the rule of law. Public servants must prioritize citizens’ safety over political agendas.
