State officials and law enforcement treated the case as a politically motivated assassination, and Utah prosecutors moved forward with the most serious charges, citing evidence they say ties Robinson to the scene. This is not ambiguity — it is a nation-stopping crime that, by the facts released so far, had political malice at its core.
Investigators also recovered curious inscriptions on the spent and unfired cartridge cases — a mix of gaming commands, memetic jokes, and anti-fascist song references that point away from the simplistic “lone MAGA shooter” narrative some on the left tried to promote. Those etched messages — from a Helldivers 2 input sequence to the line “Oh bella ciao” and juvenile taunts — suggest a shooter steeped in online subcultures and hostile to Kirk’s right-leaning agenda, not the opposite. Americans deserve straight talk about motive and evidence, not the political spin that followed.
So it was all the more outrageous when late-night host Jimmy Kimmel initially suggested the assassination could be waved off as a MAGA plot and then, after predictable backlash, returned to television insisting he didn’t intend to blame any specific group. ABC pulled the show amid the outrage and then reinstated it after a brief suspension; Kimmel’s emotional return did little to fix the damage he caused by throwing around partisan accusations before the facts were known. The media’s reflexive weaponization of tragedy for political theater is exactly what fuels the worst impulses in our country.
Andrew Kolvet, Charlie Kirk’s longtime producer and spokesman, called out Kimmel and the broader media for what he rightly called a deceitful and dangerous narrative — demanding a clear apology and labeling the willingness of some to believe otherwise as disgusting. Kolvet’s reaction was not mere partisan fury; it was a principled refusal to let the press and celebrity class write over the facts to protect their preferred storyline while families grieve. Conservatives are not asking for silence — we are demanding honesty, accountability, and an end to the double standard that excuses left-wing actors while rushing to condemn ours.

Hardworking Americans who love this country should look at what happened and resolve to protect free speech without tolerating political violence, and to hold institutions accountable when they lie or mislead. Universities must secure events and enforce the rule of law, social platforms must stop amplifying propaganda and conspiracies, and prosecutors must pursue justice without fear or favor.
