An attempted assassination of Donald Trump sounds like something straight out of a political thriller, but this was, unfortunately, real life. On a sunny Sunday afternoon, while the former president was indulging in his favorite pastime of golfing at the Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach, Florida, a would-be assassin with an AK-47 had other plans in mind. Thankfully, the Secret Service had their eyes peeled.
The man, described as a white male in his mid-60s, didn’t seem to realize that trying to take out a former president on a golf course is about as bright as bringing a rubber knife to a gunfight. When agents identified a suspicious character a couple of holes ahead, they quickly sprang into action. It seems they beat him to the punch if you will after shots were fired. The agents acted decisively, and an unidentified suspect was swiftly taken into custody. Talk about some severe greenside security.

While the left might see this as another day in America, most rational folks understand that this attack isn’t just an isolated incident. It fits into a broader pattern. As Trump has often remarked, he has enemies—many of whom thrive in the murky waters of political disdain. The FBI and Secret Service are investigating this event as a severe assassination attempt, signaling how perilously high tensions have been in the political landscape.
Following the gunshots, thankfully, Trump’s well-staffed security responded in a timely manner. His spokesperson confirmed there were no injuries reported, and the former president later took to social media to humorously assure everyone that he was “SAFE AND WELL.” In the world of politics, reassurance can sometimes be as important as the bowl of chicken soup for the soul.
One must wonder what kind of individual decides to target Trump on the golf course. Did he think he was going to join the ranks of the infamous and add “Tried to Assassinate Trump” to his resume? The irony is thick because this man should have known that at a Trump golf course, the only thing more fortified than the security is the clubhouse bar.
