It’s time for another dose of the truth about the state of things for ol’ Sleepy Joe Biden. The Wall Street Journal came out with some juicy new polling info on the crucial battleground states, and boy oh boy, it’s not looking too pretty for ol’ Joe’s reelection hopes. They even caught the first lady herself, Jill Biden, in a moment of sheer denial on “CBS Mornings,” when she was forced to face the cold, hard facts about the polls.
The numbers are in, and they’re about as comforting as a porcupine in your pillowcase for Team Biden. In those key battleground states, it’s looking like Trump is giving Sleepy Joe a run for his money. The only state where Biden isn’t getting trounced by Trump is Wisconsin, where they’re tied at 46 percent. But in the other battleground states, Trump is leading the charge. He’s up by as much as 6 points in North Carolina, and even in states like Michigan and Pennsylvania, where the margin is slimmer, Biden is still playing catch-up.
But it’s not just the numbers that are giving ol’ Joe a headache. The poll also revealed that voters aren’t exactly lining up to sing his praises. In fact, they’re not too keen on his job performance and are even questioning his mental fitness to handle the White House. And it looks like Biden is having a harder time holding on to the supporters that got him elected in 2020. Black, Hispanic, and young voters are starting to slip through his fingers like sand at the beach.
If that’s not enough, the Biden camp’s game plan is about as effective as a screen door on a submarine. Instead of focusing on real issues that matter to voters, they’re busy regurgitating old lies about Trump and making a fuss about abortion. Meanwhile, Trump is shining in the polls when it comes to handling the economy, inflation, and immigration. It’s no wonder Jill Biden is in denial – she’s stuck in a sinking ship, and the lifeboats are nowhere in sight.
To make matters worse, the first lady’s stubbornness and refusal to face reality are reminiscent of the false hope that came with a previous set of polls that showed Biden and Trump neck and neck in Michigan and Pennsylvania. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Trump’s still standing tall in those battleground states, and Biden’s not out of the woods yet.
It’s time for the Democrats to put down the rose-colored glasses and acknowledge that the writing’s on the wall. Even some of their own, like strategist James Carville, have been sounding the alarm about Biden’s shaky ground with non-white, young, male voters. The clock is ticking, and ol’ Joe better start coming up with some real solutions if he wants a fighting chance in November. It’s going to take a lot more than wishful thinking and denial to turn the tides in Biden’s favor. Tick-tock, Sleepy Joe! Tick-tock!
