A beer theft at a Florida convenience store sparked a police chase and exposed a drug-filled car. Three suspects were arrested after deputies stopped them with a tactical maneuver. The young thief played dumb while sitting beside stolen beer he took from a 7-Eleven.
Deputy Michael Stringer was filling his patrol car at the Marion County 7-Eleven last Saturday night. A store clerk ran over saying someone just stole cases of Modelo beer. The deputy saw the suspect car leaving and tried to pull them over.
But the driver Jaitai Williams refused to stop and sped away. Deputy Stringer chased them down Southeast 92nd Loop in his sheriff’s vehicle. He quickly used a PIT maneuver to force their car off the road.
When deputies approached the stopped vehicle passenger Raymond Myrick started throwing drugs out the window. Field tests proved he had cocaine fentanyl and THC in his possession. This showed these criminals weren’t just stealing beer but pushing deadly poison.
Deputies found three stolen cases of Modelo beer right beside 19-year-old Steven Hogan in the back seat. He claimed he didn’t know what happened playing innocent. But the dashcam footage from the 7-Eleven clearly showed him grabbing the beer without paying.
All three men were hauled to jail facing serious charges. Williams is charged with fleeing from police while Myrick got drug possession charges. Hogan the young beer thief faces retail theft charges for his crime.
This incident shows how petty theft often leads to bigger crimes. These suspects didn’t just steal beer they had dangerous drugs in their car. It proves that weak laws and soft policing create chaos in our communities.
