Reality has finally smacked the Biden-Harris administration in the face, and it’s about time. After months of engaging in the fantasy of negotiating with a genocidal terrorist group, it appears that the Oval Office has come to the astounding conclusion that Hamas isn’t exactly interested in behaving like a responsible player on the world stage. For nearly a year, this administration has wasted time and breath trying to broker a deal, unaware that their efforts were about as effective as trying to reason with a rabid dog.
Recent reports indicate that the White House is now finally questioning if there is, indeed, a hostage release and ceasefire agreement that Hamas might entertain. Spoiler alert: the answer is a resounding “no.” This revelation may be new information for the Biden team, but for anyone with half a brain, it’s an obvious fact. The mindset that Hamas could possibly be negotiated with was never more than an unrealistic daydream, and the clock was wasted on these delusions.

What prompted this belated understanding? It appears that Israel’s attempt to rescue six hostages in Rafah—a place where Biden and Harris had insisted Israel should never venture—resulted in tragedy when Hamas executed those hostages. Following this gruesome act, Hamas doubled down on their depravity by releasing propaganda videos to mock the victims’ families. This is the same group that displayed their brutal, true colors on October 7, 2023, when they committed heinous acts against innocent civilians. The Biden-Harris administration has only just awakened to the fact that Hamas is skilled in cruelty, not diplomacy.
For months, the Biden administration pointed fingers at Israel, feeling free to blast Netanyahu for any and all obstacles to peace. Remarkably, they failed to connect the dots on who the real roadblock is: a terrorist organization that consistently refuses to negotiate in good faith. The pattern is clear—Hamas walks away from discussions every single time. It’s astounding that the White House continues to push Israel to make concessions while simultaneously blaming them for Hamas’s refusal to play ball.
Now, after Hamas has taken American lives along with others, Biden and Harris seem to have reluctantly shifted their stance. Their desire to disparage Israel simply couldn’t hold up in the face of reality—the very organization they were so quick to criticize is not the one executing hostages; Hamas is. Yet even as they recognize that Hamas has no intentions of reaching a peaceful agreement, the administration still seems hesitant to brand this group as what it truly is: a genocidal, Jew-hating terrorist organization with no room for negotiation.
The question looms large—why is this White House still believing in the possibility of negotiations with Hamas? If they’ve finally accepted that this group is beyond reasoning, it’s time for them to act according to that revelation. A strong approach, one that focuses on the destruction of Hamas’s leadership and infrastructure, is necessary. Playing pretend with empty rhetoric and unrealistic expectations isn’t just futile; it’s dangerous. If there were ever a moment to support Israel unequivocally and take a hardline stance against Hamas, it’s now.
The lesson should be painfully clear by now: appeasement does not work with terrorists. It took an inexcusable amount of time for the Biden administration to wake up from their slumber. Now it’s high time they act decisively—no more empty threats or wishful thinking. An all-out effort is the only response to a group that not only endangers Israelis but is now targeting Americans. The message is simple: support Israel, dismantle Hamas, and stop pretending that discussions with such a barbaric entity could ever lead to peace.
