Biden Awards Cheney and Thompson Medals for Pushing Failed January 6 Agenda

The recent decision by the Biden administration to award Liz Cheney and Bennie Thompson the Presidential Citizens Medal raises eyebrows and demonstrates yet again the left’s commitment to celebrating failure. This esteemed award, which is typically reserved for genuine heroes, will instead honor two of the leading figures behind the January 6th committee – an entity largely viewed as a political circus more than a serious investigation.

Cheney, who once represented Wyoming with some level of dignity, has transformed into a poster child for political self-destruction. Her loyalty to the anti-Trump agenda has not only alienated her constituents but also cost her a seat in Congress after an astonishing defeat in her primary. While she may bask in the glow of a shiny medal, it is not lost on anyone that this award serves as a consolation prize for her spectacular career downfall. In a world where the word “hero” is thrown around, Cheney should probably take a seat.

Thompson’s performance as chair of the January 6th committee was marked by questionable tactics and a complete disregard for procedural integrity. Accusations of document destruction and the manipulation of evidence have cast a long shadow over the legitimacy of the committee’s findings. While Capitol protests raged and citizens clamored for justice, Thompson seemed more concerned with shaping a narrative. His antics have led to discussions about the need for pardons—something that might be necessary for both Thompson and Cheney as they face the consequences of their actions.

The hypocritical nature of this award is further highlighted by its contrast with the lives lost and the chaos that ensued on January 6th. The public might remember that while numerous individuals were present that day, only a small number faced repercussions, largely due to the biased lens through which the left has chosen to view the events. The heroes of the day—those who defended the Capitol and risked their lives—were overlooked in favor of these two prominent figures who seem to have done little more than further a partisan agenda.

Moreover, the Biden administration’s penchant for dishonesty is evidenced by its handling of narratives surrounding that day. Previous awards, supposedly honoring police officers, included dubious claims about the events of January 6th that have since been refuted. Such miscalculations and distortions of truth reveal the lengths to which the administration is willing to go to bolster its narrative. One must question how convoluted the reasoning must be to consider Thompson and Cheney’s duplicitous careers worthy of a second-highest civilian award.

In the end, the Biden administration’s decision to honor these two with a prestigious medal speaks volumes about its priorities. Cheney and Thompson may don their medals with pride, but for many Americans, they will merely represent a misguided attempt to glorify those who have manipulated the truth for political advantage. The celebration of ineptitude in the guise of honor is a clear indicator of the current political landscape, where the rewards often go to those who prioritize their agenda over accountability and American unity.
