President Joe Biden decided to ditch the dreary weather in Washington, DC and jet off to a luxurious getaway in the U.S. Virgin Islands. But this wasn’t just any vacation spot – no, Biden and the First Lady chose to escape the cold at the lavish St. Croix retreat of wealthy donors Bill and Connie Neville. And while it might sound like a dream come true for the President, some critics are raising eyebrows over the ethics of this arrangement.
The President’s decision to take a six-night vacation at the Neville’s beachfront home has sparked controversy, with many questioning the optics of Biden enjoying a free vacation from wealthy backers. This isn’t the first time Biden has cozied up at the Neville’s retreat, having done the same last year. It seems like the President has a knack for finding a good deal when it comes to tropical getaways, doesn’t he?

But what’s even more astonishing than the President’s taste for luxury vacations is the timing of this trip. With crises piling up across the country – from the House’s impeachment inquiry, his son Hunter’s legal troubles, and inflation hitting hard for American families, to the escalating border crisis and his plummeting poll numbers – one would think that Biden might want to stay in D.C. and demonstrate he’s taking these matters seriously. Nope! Instead, he’s off to sip margaritas on a sun-drenched beach, leaving the rest of us to deal with “Bidenomics.”
And just in case you were hoping that Vice President Kamala Harris might be holding down the fort while Biden is off sunbathing, think again. She’s also slipped away for a little R&R in California. It seems like the top brass in the White House has a “work hard, vacation harder” mentality, doesn’t it?
While they’re soaking up the sun, record numbers of illegal immigrants are making a beeline across our open southern border. But hey, who needs leadership in times of crisis when you’ve got a piña colada in hand, right?
