Biden Blames Netanyahu for Hamas Murder Amidst Ceasefire Claims

President Joe Biden has aimed a new scapegoat, this time pinning responsibility for the murder of American citizen Hersh Goldberg-Polin on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Following the tragic recovery of Goldberg-Polin’s body alongside five other Jewish victims at the hands of Hamas in Rafah, Biden’s response reeks of diverting blame instead of addressing the real issue.

After returning from his much-needed beach vacation—a relaxing two weeks that somehow managed to include international crisis management—Biden nonchalantly assured reporters that a ceasefire and hostage deal with Hamas is somehow “very close.” Apparently, he must have taken lessons from a magician on how to pull rabbits out of hats because claiming progress in peace negotiations amid slaughter is a tough sell even for the most seasoned politician.

When pressed about whether Netanyahu could do more, Biden brushed off the question, signaling that he believes Israel—often seen as the bastion of democracy in a region riddled with extremism—should shoulder more of the burden. Strangely, there’s no mention of the hostilities Hamas perpetuates or the fact that the Biden administration has a history of putting pressure on Israel to make concessions rather than holding terrorists accountable.

Netanyahu offered his take on the situation, pointing out that he already arranged extraordinary concessions for hostages that Hamas flatly rejected time and again. The Israeli Prime Minister raised eyebrows by questioning what has changed in the last few days. The obvious answer? Six innocent lives were extinguished by Hamas brutality—a fact Biden seems more inclined to dodge in favor of Jewish leaders. Instead of acknowledging this chilling reality, Biden seemingly treats it as just another headline to minimize.

The administration’s misplaced focus has become laughable. Instead of directing ire toward the actual terrorists, the Biden approach directs expectations at Israel and not the group that just committed cold-blooded murder. Blame shifting has become the name of the game, especially since Biden appears content with simply deflecting responsibility rather than applying pressure to the real culprits behind this violence.

Let’s not forget that this is not Biden’s first rodeo when it comes to blame games. Be it inflation, the mess at the southern border, or a myriad of other domestic issues, the President has a knack for finding someone else to blame. The landscape in the Middle East has similarly shifted under Biden’s watch—yet instead of rallying for accountability against Hamas, he’s passing the buck to a fellow leader fighting for the continued existence of his nation. With this latest episode, it’s clear that when facing troubles, Biden’s preferred tactic is to project the chaos elsewhere, even if it means undermining a crucial ally.
