The White House may be caving to the demands of GOP lawmakers to close the border’s parole loophole, a change from what reports were saying just last week. It seems that during a meeting on Friday, Mr. Biden’s advisers realized that reaching a border deal with Republicans would require the administration to agree on limiting parole. This was quite different from the previous week, when pro-migration groups close to the talks were being told that restricting “parole” seemed to be off the table.
White House May Curb ‘Parole’ Migration to Get Deal with GOP https://t.co/JTix5jRnme

The negotiations for this border deal are all caught up in President Joe Biden’s need for additional funding to handle the masses of southern migrants approaching the border during the 2024 election. It’s also tied to the White House’s efforts to assist Ukraine in their conflict with Russia. According to Sen. James Lankford, a deal may even be announced as soon as this week.
As part of the negotiations, GOP leaders are pushing for limitations on parole migration and additional reforms to the nation’s migration laws. House Speaker Mike Johnson has expressed skepticism about the White House’s honesty and the honesty of Biden’s border chief, Alejandro Mayorkas, accusing him of lying to Congress and to the American people about the state of the border.
President Biden’s liberal immigration policies are not sitting well with voters, with a CBS poll reporting that 79 percent of independents disapprove of his easy-migration approach, and 48 percent of Americans feeling that the influx of migrants will make American society “worse in the long run.” It’s clear that Biden’s administration is using the parole loophole to bus in even more migrants, which isn’t a popular move among voters.
The possible White House change in stance would likely face opposition from certain investor groups backing Biden’s more liberal immigration policies. These investors are in favor of the parole loophole because it benefits their economic interests, driving down wages and benefiting from taxpayer-subsidized consumers. They are known for advocating for the inflow of cheap workers, apartment-sharing renters, and subsidized consumers.
Alejandro Mayorkas, the border chief, is also responsible for paroling at least 700,000 migrants into the country, fast-tracking their access to work permits, jobs, and welfare, at the expense of native-born Americans. Mayorkas seems to have a sympathetic disposition toward migrants and is in support of importing cheap workers, satisfying the demands of business interests. His statements about the immigration system and labor needs show his inclination towards prioritizing the interests of migrants and businesses over those of American citizens.
Additionally, the Canadian model of high immigration has caused significant negative effects on the country, such as soaring house prices and interest rates, declining wages, and birth rates. These adverse consequences provide a cautionary tale for the United States and should prompt a reevaluation of the excessive immigration policy being pursued by the Biden administration.
President’s liberal immigration policies are not aligning with the desires of the American people, and the potential concessions to GOP demands highlight the White House’s recognition of the need to address the loopholes in the immigration system. The interests of American citizens must be prioritized, and reforming the parole and asylum laws is essential to secure the border and safeguard the well-being of the nation.
