The concrete evidence offered so far is a set of photos published by a right-of-center investigator that allegedly show Hunter Biden and his wife in Cape Town, accompanied by security details. Conservative journalists have seized on those images as proof that a politically connected family is using foreign travel and taxpayer-funded protection to dodge depositions and public scrutiny.
Those photos arrived in the middle of a legal skirmish in which Hunter Biden’s opponents accused him of trying to avoid a scheduled deposition in a California suit; a federal judge ultimately allowed the case to be dismissed after Mr. Biden’s attorneys argued he could not afford to continue.
