President Joe Biden was caught in yet another embarrassing blunder, this time while attempting to recognize the anniversary of the moon landing. As any school child knows, Neil Armstrong’s famous line while walking on the moon was “One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” But leave it to Biden to mess it up and say, “One small step for man, and one giant step for mankind.” Classic Biden.

It’s no secret that President Biden has a habit of mispronouncing words and making gaffes. This year alone, he’s promised to build a railroad across the Pacific Ocean, forgotten the details of his son’s death, and even mixed up the Congressional Hispanic Caucus with the Black Caucus. It’s hard to keep track of all the cringe-worthy moments.
But these missteps are more than just fodder for late-night comedians. They’re indicative of a larger problem with Biden’s competency and mental acuity. It’s no wonder that deep majorities of Americans, including Democrats, believe that he should not run for reelection. Even former President Donald Trump has taken advantage of Biden’s weakness, mocking him for needing stabilizing drugs and suggesting that he walks on toothpicks.
The White House has tried to deflect from these embarrassing moments with ridiculous excuses, like claiming that reporters can’t keep up with the president’s rigorous schedule. They even go so far as to say that Biden wears special sneakers to avoid tripping in public and has a small auxiliary set up stairs to board Air Force One. It’s all just a sad attempt to cover up the fact that our president is not at the top of his game.
In the end, it’s clear that Biden’s gaffes and mispronunciations are more than just harmless slip-ups. They’re evidence of a larger problem and raise serious concerns about his ability to lead our country. The American people deserve better.
