Joe Biden’s “big boy” news conference at the NATO summit wasn’t exactly a resounding success, but let’s be honest, the bar was set pretty low. After eight months of radio silence, the President stumbled out of the gate, mixing up Kamala Harris with “Vice President Trump.” Oh yes, the leader of the free world can’t even keep his own VP straight. Yet, believe it or not, this comedy of errors wasn’t enough to sink him entirely, at least in the eyes of liberal media lapdogs.
Among Biden’s carnival of gaffes, he managed to cobble together some insights on foreign policy that didn’t totally embarrass the nation. Still, convincing anyone he’s physically and mentally fit to take on another presidential run was a stretch. His defense? Beating Trump once in 2020 is somehow a magical talisman that’ll work again in 2024. Democrats might want to rethink their strategy if that’s the best they can offer.

White House Reporter Naomi Lim delved into the nearly hourlong fiasco, highlighting that even some Democrat legislators are openly wondering if it’s time for Biden to call it quits. Names like Jim Himes, Scott Peters, and Eric Sorensen are floating around, urging Ol’ Joe to step down. Imagine being so shaky in your role that your bedtime jokes get traction among both friends and foes.
Democratic donors, once Biden’s cash cows, seem to be hearing the buzz and thinking twice about pouring more money into a sinking ship. It seems Biden’s bedtime bungles are scaring them more than his dwindling poll numbers. Abigail Disney, representing the Disney fortune, has cut off the financial faucet to the Democratic Party unless Biden gets the boot. That’s one fairy tale Biden won’t find a happy ending in.
And, lest we forget, House Republicans are still quietly working on an impeachment strategy. Biden’s blunders make it feel like they’re beating a dead horse, yet the Democrats’ internal strife is doing plenty of damage too. The GOP is ready to strike with their impeachment report, but they’re also letting the Dems stew in their own chaotic broth for a while longer. When the report finally drops, it’ll be another blow to Biden’s already faltering credibility.
With both Democrats and Republicans doubting his capability, Biden’s leadership may soon be a relic of the past. As he fumbles through each public appearance, the clock ticks louder, both for him and for a Democratic Party desperately needing a savior.
