In a shocking turn of events, Chair of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, Mike Turner, has called on President Joe Biden to declassify information regarding a “serious national security threat.” And let’s just say, people are not pleased with the lack of transparency.

Now, you might be thinking, “What could this threat possibly be?” Well, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan isn’t giving us any real answers. All he had to say was that he would be briefing members of Congress on Thursday and that he was confident in Biden’s ability to handle any challenges. Really? We’re supposed to feel reassured by that? Have you seen how Biden has been handling things lately? It’s like watching a toddler try to put a square peg into a round hole.
The speculation around this threat is wild, to say the least. Some are suggesting it’s “space-related,” with reports even mentioning Russian involvement. I mean, leave it to Russia to take things to another level. According to ABC, they want to put nuclear weapons in space. Just what we need, right? A nuclear warhead floating around up there. Thanks a lot, Russia.
But hold on a second. Politico is now saying that this whole situation might not be as urgent as we initially thought. Apparently, it’s a “longer-term problem” that has been known about for some time. Way to give us a heart attack for no reason. And NBC News is reporting that members of Congress are trying to “diffuse the panic.” Well, too late for that, folks. The panic train has left the station.
Now, House Speaker Mike Johnson is chiming in and trying to calm our nerves. He’s saying there’s no need to worry and that he already had a meeting scheduled with the White House about this very matter. If it was so urgent, why did it take a whole month to get on their schedule? I’ll tell you why. It’s because this threat is not an immediate emergency crisis. But don’t worry, it’s still significant. Just not urgent. Or something like that.
Look, all I’m saying is that we deserve to know the truth. What is this national security threat that has everyone in a tizzy? And why won’t they declassify the information? It’s time for Biden to step up and be transparent with the American people. We elected him to protect us, not keep us in the dark. Let’s hope this briefing on Thursday gives us some real answers. We’re waiting, Mr. President. Don’t let us down… again.
