Biden Turns Jan. 6th Tragedy into Political Circus at Iconic US Site

Joe Biden is using the upcoming third anniversary of the Jan. 6 Capitol incident as an opportunity to launch an attack against Donald Trump and his supporters. The President is scheduled to give a speech at the historic Revolutionary War site in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, near the Pennsylvania Continental Army encampment site where General George Washington once had his headquarters. According to Julie Chávez Rodríguez, Biden’s campaign manager, the choice for voters in the 2024 election will be about protecting democracy and fundamental freedoms. This aggressive approach towards Trump is seen as a way for Biden to energize his campaign.

Biden’s strategy includes using American history as a weapon against his political opponent. In an attempt to remove Trump from the ballots in Democrat-controlled states, Democrats have been working diligently to eliminate any evidence of Trump’s influence. Rodríguez commented on the events of January 6, 2021, stating that it was a rebuke of democracy characterized by revenge and retribution. She also accused Trump of attempting to prevent the peaceful transfer of power, a first in the nation’s history.

Michael Tyler, Biden’s campaign communication director, didn’t hold back in his attack against Trump and his supporters, calling Trump a dictator and accusing him of encouraging political violence. In response, Trump’s campaign accused Biden and his allies of being a threat to democracy. Trump’s advisers, Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles, stated that Biden and his supporters were waging war against democracy on a level never seen before.

It’s clear that Biden is using American history to attack American voters, even if there is no direct connection between the Revolutionary War and the 2024 election. Biden is expected to repeat the left’s narrative about the Jan. 6 incident, including labeling it an “insurrection” and blaming Trump for inciting it. Although no one has been charged with insurrection and Trump was seen telling his supporters to remain peaceful, Biden seems determined to push these false narratives.

Interestingly, a recent Washington Post poll revealed that 36 percent of respondents believe Biden’s election was illegitimate, up from 29 percent in 2021. Additionally, only 17 percent of Trump voters and 24 percent of Republicans believe that the Jan. 6 incident was an attack on democracy that should never be forgotten. This indicates a lack of importance attributed to the events of that day among Republicans.

As the 2024 campaign season heats up, Biden’s choice of venues for his speeches and his aggressive approach towards Trump suggest that he is looking to mobilize his base and distance himself from the previous administration. However, it remains to be seen how effective this strategy will be in the face of growing skepticism about the legitimacy of Biden’s election and the perception of the Jan. 6 incident among Republicans.
