On March 12, Hur is set to appear before the House Judiciary Committee, led by the fearless Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH), to spill all the beans about his investigation into the president’s not-so-great storage of classified material, as well as spill the tea on that memorable interview with Biden. And you better believe that House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) will be in on the action too – this isn’t a show for understudies, folks!
Of course, the Democrats, led by the big man himself and his entourage, are already trash-talking Hur’s report as “gratuitous” and full of inaccuracies. They’re even insisting that the report is correct in saying that no charges should be brought against Biden. But, let’s face it, they’re just warming up for one of their classic smear campaigns. Can’t blame ’em for sticking to what they know, right?
But hold your horses, because the real party is going to be with the Republicans. They’ll be digging for more dirt on Biden’s selective memory about his vice presidency with Obama and his son’s passing. Plus, they’re not about to let Hur off the hook for calling Biden an “elderly man with a poor memory.” Oh, it’s going to be a showdown for the ages, folks!
Some Democrats are trying to spin Hur’s appearance on Capitol Hill as an unwarranted attack on Biden, but let’s not play pretend here. Special counsels always answer questions from relevant committees after releasing their final reports. It’s just how the cookie crumbles. Remember John Durham and Robert Mueller? Yeah, they did the same song and dance after finishing their investigations.
And let’s not forget the Republicans’ request for U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland to hand over the transcript from Biden’s chat with Hur. So far, crickets. But don’t think they’re giving up that easily!
In the meantime, Biden’s White House crew is tight-lipped about releasing the transcript from the president’s interview with Hur. Can’t say it’s a total surprise, considering it was Biden himself who brought up the topic of his late son, Beau. Ah, the plot thickens!
