Biden’s Border Crisis: ZERO Tolerance Talk, Zero Action

Here’s a scenario that’s becoming all too familiar: law enforcement under siege, specifically ICE agents. This time around, the focus is on tracking apps that pinpoint the locations of ICE officers, essentially serving as a digital neon sign for anyone with ill intentions. It’s shocking how technology, designed to make life easier, has become a weapon against those risking everything to keep us safe. Imagine the astonishment when it comes to light that these apps practically hand over ICE agents’ exact locations to potential attackers, serving them up on a silver platter.

The latest mayhem involving these tracking apps surrounds a situation in Dallas where a shooter used such an app to target and attack officers. There’s no need to be the world’s best detective to see why this scenario is incomprehensible. It’s like giving a hitman a map with a big ‘X’ marking the spot. Yet, oddly enough, despite warnings, some media outlets continue to amplify these apps. The question arises: Why aren’t we doing more to clamp down on this reckless disregard for the lives of ICE officers and their families?

Now, before anyone breaks out the world’s smallest violin, let’s remember these agents are tasked with enforcing immigration laws made by Congress. It’s a demanding job, one that sometimes comes with public scorn and misinformation. But make no mistake, they’re not the enemy. They’re the line that keeps dangerous elements at bay, removing threats from communities. Some public officials, however, appear to be tripping over themselves to vilify ICE. Take, for instance, the mayor of Broadview, who seems to think ICE agents are waging war on her community. It’s almost laughable.

What’s truly perplexing is how some people are quick to turn criminals into sympathetic characters worthy of defense. Take the case in Des Moines, where ICE nabbed a man previously ordered to leave the country, found with a loaded gun and a knife. Despite his record, including prior weapons charges, some on the left paint him as a victim. It’s extraordinary how some folks can twist reality into knots so tight they resemble a pretzel.

In all seriousness, something has to give. It’s imperative that those in positions of power stop treating ICE agents like scapegoats for broader political issues. They should be heralded for their courage and commitment; instead, they often receive hostility. The line from a popular movie could teach us something here: “If you don’t like what ICE is doing, go change the law.” But for those content merely to sling mud from the sidelines, perhaps it’s time they try supporting the very individuals who safeguard our nation and uphold the laws on the books.
