In the current justice system under the Biden administration, it seems that punishments are being handed out based on political beliefs rather than the severity of the crimes committed. Take for example the case of a group of pro-life protesters who peacefully sang hymns and prayed outside an abortion clinic in Tennessee. They were convicted of violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act and face up to 10 1/2 years in prison, a $260,000 fine, and three years of supervised release.
On the other hand, Hridindu Sankar Roychowdhury firebombed the offices of a pro-life organization in Wisconsin and was found to have spray-painted a threatening message outside the building. Despite causing significant damage and posing a serious threat to the lives of individuals, Roychowdhury was sentenced to just 7 1/2 years in prison. This glaring discrepancy in the severity of the crimes and the resulting sentences raises concerns about the justice system’s fairness and impartiality.

The pro-life protesters, although convicted of a non-violent offense, are facing harsher potential consequences compared to Roychowdhury, whose actions had far more destructive and dangerous implications. This unequal treatment in the justice system is a disturbing trend that undermines the principle of blind justice and equal treatment under the law.
It is evident that political biases are influencing the administration’s approach to criminal prosecution, and this undermines the fundamental principles of justice and fairness. The Biden administration’s failure to ensure equal justice for all citizens, regardless of their political beliefs, is a cause for concern and raises questions about the credibility and integrity of the justice system.
The case serves as a reminder of the importance of upholding the principle of blind justice and the need for impartiality in the administration of punishment. The current administration’s failure to uphold these fundamental principles calls for a reevaluation of the justice system to ensure that all individuals are treated fairly and equally under the law, irrespective of their political affiliations.
The unequal treatment of the pro-life protesters and Roychowdhury highlights the need for a justice system that is free from political influence and ensures that all individuals are held accountable for their actions based on the merits of their deeds, rather than their political beliefs.
