Former President Joe Biden lashed out at House Republicans for impeaching Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, calling it “petty political games.” Well, if anyone knows about playing petty political games, it’s Joe Biden. Impeaching Mayorkas was not some ploy to gain political points; it was a necessary action in response to his failure to enforce federal law and secure our southern border. But I guess when you’re a Democrat, accountability is just a game.

Majority Whip Tom Emmer hit the nail on the head when he said, “Because Mayorkas failed to do the honorable thing by resigning, House Republicans fulfilled our Constitutional duty by voting to impeach.” It’s about time someone in Washington held these bureaucrats accountable for their actions, or in this case, their lack of action.
Of course, Biden couldn’t resist playing the victim and accusing House Republicans of “unconstitutional partisanship.” Sorry, Joe, but upholding the rule of law and ensuring the security of our nation is not partisan – it’s our duty. Mayorkas may have an impressive resume, but that doesn’t excuse his failures at the border. We need leaders who will actually enforce the laws, not just talk about it.
It’s no surprise that Senate Democrats will likely fail to convict Mayorkas. They’re more interested in protecting their own than upholding the Constitution and serving the American people. But Biden is quick to demand that Congress give him and his administration more tools and resources to address the border crisis. Maybe if they actually enforced the laws and secured the border, they wouldn’t need more tools and resources.
In the end, it’s clear that House Republicans are the ones trying to solve the problem, while Biden and the Democrats are just playing politics. It’s time for real solutions, not more empty promises.
