Biden’s Inflation Scrooge Steals Holiday Cheer from Shoppers

As the holiday shopping season kicks into high gear, American consumers are feeling the pinch of inflation thanks to Bidenomics. With Hanukkah just around the corner and Christmas Eve a little over three weeks away, retailers should be seeing a boost, but unfortunately, that’s not the case this year.

According to a recent poll released by Monmouth University, 55 percent of Americans have cut back on their holiday shopping due to high prices, an increase from 46 percent last year and 40 percent in 2021. The impact of inflation is hitting hard, with those making less than $50,000 a year being the most affected, as 67 percent of them are cutting back on spending compared to 48 percent in 2022.

The numbers don’t lie – under Biden’s watch, inflation is still soaring, with the current rate at 5 percent, which is higher than during President Trump’s tenure. In fact, among the last 11 presidents, Biden has the third highest inflation rate, only behind President George W. Bush and Trump. This is not the rosy picture the Democrats want to paint, even though White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre tried to spin a different narrative during a recent press briefing.

Despite Jean-Pierre’s claims of costs lowering and the economy being in a better place, the reality on the ground tells a different story. Americans are increasingly dissatisfied with Biden’s handling of the economy and inflation, with his approval ratings on these issues sitting at a dismal 34.3 percent and 37.3 percent, respectively. It’s no wonder that Democrats are starting to distance themselves from Bidenomics, as the 2024 presidential election looms on the horizon.

With Trump leading in a potential rematch of the 2020 election, it’s clear that the American people are losing confidence in Biden’s ability to turn things around. As the nation faces an uncertain economic future, it’s vital to pay attention to how these issues will impact the upcoming holiday seasons and the political landscape in the years to come.
