The Senate Homeland Security Committee made a bold move on Wednesday, voting 6-4 to push forward President Joe Biden’s pick to lead the Office of Special Counsel. But hold your horses, folks, because there’s a catch! The GOP has some major concerns about this person’s cozy connections to none other than Hunter Biden. Talk about a can of worms opening up!

Hampton Dellinger, the nominee in question, is a big shot attorney at Boies Schiller Flexner, and get this—he represented Burisma, the shady Ukrainian energy company where Hunter Biden had his fingers in the pie. And guess what? President Biden picked Dellinger for this gig back in October, more than two whole years after tapping him to lead the Office of Legal Policy. Some folks are scratching their heads over this one, wondering what kind of shenanigans are going on behind the scenes.
But here’s the real kicker: Emails from Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop showed that Dellinger was chummy-chummy with his colleagues at Burisma, even going to dinner and lunch with none other than Hunter himself. Cue the dramatic music, folks! It looks like there’s more to this story than meets the eye.
Sen. Josh Hawley, a no-nonsense Republican on the committee, ain’t mincing words. He told the Washington Examiner that he’s “really concerned about it.” And he didn’t stop there, folks. Hawley also thinks Dellinger did a lousy job at the Office of Legal Policy. Ouch!
But wait, there’s more! A group of sharp-witted Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee, who don’t even have a say over Dellinger’s nomination, dashed off a letter to the president, urging him to yank Dellinger’s nomination quicker than a kid pulling a loose tooth. They pointed out that if Dellinger gets the gig, he’ll be the one in charge of making sure no one messes with whistleblowers, like the ones blowing the whistle on Hunter Biden’s IRS antics. I smell a cover-up brewing, folks!
