Bill Maher just handed conservatives a rare Christmas gift: an admission of error. For years, the liberal media laughed at President Trump’s tariffs, predicting economic disaster, rampant inflation, and a tanked stock market. They said Trump’s America-first trade policy would turn the nation into a global punching bag. But here we sit—with the stock market smashing records, unemployment falling, and factories humming again. Even Maher couldn’t deny the facts playing out right in front of his eyes on his own podcast.
It’s stunning how fast the narrative collapsed. The same people who screamed that Trump’s “tariffs” would send us back to the Great Depression now have to awkwardly admit that the economy is doing just fine. Inflation is down, consumer confidence is climbing, and retail sales are booming. This is the reality Trump’s detractors refused to see because it didn’t fit the globalist script. Instead of destroying jobs and raising prices, tariffs helped rebuild American manufacturing and forced other countries to respect U.S. labor and goods. Yet the left spent years spreading doom and gloom, clinging to fantasies rather than facts.
This admission from Maher exposes the bigger problem—the media’s blind loyalty to Washington elites, globalist corporations, and lazy economic orthodoxies. They don’t want America to win. They want cheap foreign labor and endless trade deficits, even if it means gutting the American worker. Trump’s tariffs were never about hurting the economy. They were about restoring America’s bargaining power, ending decades of unfair trade deals, and putting our workers first. Now, with new trade agreements being signed on Trump’s terms, the left is scrambling to adjust their narrative once again.

The truth is, real patriots have been screaming this from the rooftops for years. No one said it was easy, but standing up to China’s unfair trade practices and renegotiating deals ripped off from hardworking Americans was the right thing to do. And guess what? It worked. The economy is thriving, the stock market is soaring, and people are employed. That’s a win for America, and for any leader who actually puts the country’s interests above some globalist agenda.
So here’s the question liberals won’t answer: If President Trump’s tariffs were supposed to “destroy the economy” but actually helped create jobs and grow wages, what else have they been wrong about? Maybe it’s time they start listening to American workers instead of corporate lobbyists and left-wing pundits who can’t admit when they’re beaten. Because denying facts doesn’t make you right—it just makes you irrelevant.
